What is Coaching?

In sports, we are all familiar with athletes who have coaches or personal trainers who tell them how to improve their game – how to practice, how make the next play, how to win. A personal coach is someone much like that, but in other areas of your life. Someone who can give you the guidance and support that you need to win your game – to be successful reaching your personal goals. 

It can be hard to reach an important goal all on our own, without support. Sometimes family and friends are just not the right people to provide the kind of support you need. 

When you decide to make a life change, your own personal coach is someone who can provide you with:

  • a safe place to be heard

  • a forward-focused perspective

  • guidance in clarifying exactly what it is you want to achieve

  • assistance in creating a road map to reach that goal

  • strategies to navigate obstacles and reduce distractions

  • check-ins to keep you accountable

  • objective, non-judgmental feedback

  • encouragement to stay on course, especially when the path is hard

What is HypnoCoaching®?

As a Certified HypnoCoach®, I will blend traditional personal life coaching methods with hypnosis to help you be successful in your life. I will use a structured system that is specifically designed to help you tap into your own inner resources and use your own natural abilities so that you can dissolve barriers and take those action steps necessary to reach your desired goals and dreams!

HypnoCoaching® has the advantage over traditional personal coaching by incorporating Hypnosis and NLP techniques into the process so that you can make changes at a deeper subconscious level and thus achieve what you desire more easily, quickly and effectively.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of hyper-focused attention, or intense concentration, where the unconscious mind can be communicated with more easily and is more receptive to suggestions made to it. This altered state of mind is completely natural and everyone experiences it regularly on a day-to-day basis – but often times we are not aware that many of our experiences are in fact occurring in the same state as that which is also known as hypnosis, or even that these experiences can influence our lives. 

Recall the last time when you became so engrossed in an activity, such as reading a book or watching TV or working on your computer - or even daydreaming - that you were unaware of other events happening in your environment, such as someone entering the room. You were not asleep, but rather in an altered state of mind induced by focusing your attention on something specific. It produced a change in your perception. What many don’t realize is that even during these common daily experiences, you are also more readily influenced by ideas suggested to you during these times. By things that others say to you, and also by your own internal thoughts. 

Now, when hypnosis is used by someone like myself who is trained to help people reach their goals and dreams, then it becomes a wonderful tool to positively and effectively create change at the subconscious level - to release those old, negative, out-dated, erroneous messages that were programmed into your mind by others – to reframe past experiences and change old limiting thoughts, feelings and behaviors. so that you become empowered to move forward more easily in the direction you so desire.

As your coach, I will use a variety of hypnotherapeutic techniques like mindfulness, visualization, guided imagery, and neuro-linguistic programming - methods that allow us to communicate and make changes at the subconscious level.

Structure of Hypnosis Program Sessions

For hypnosis to be effective at establishing long-term permanent success, you must be ready to commit yourself to the process of making these necessary changes. The basic hypnosis program that I offer all new  clients consists of 6 sessions, with weekly or biweekly appointments held telehealth-style via private video conference using Zoom.

Your Initial Meeting

Prior to beginning your 6-session hypnosis program, there is an initial 90 minute consultation that is held via private online Zoom meeting which goes more into much more depth than we cover during the brief 30-minute telephone consultation (visit the "Request Phone Call" page to schedule this free preliminary information session). 

During this initial meeting, we will get to know each other, and begin building the relationship and session structure which will ensure your success. As part of this process, we will discuss your responses from the intake questionnaire, a form that you will have filled out ahead of time. We will:

  • clarify your purpose & motivation for participating in this hypnosis program

  • articulate clearly defined goals that meet your needs 

  • discuss how your inner mind (subconscious) works and how hypnosis is used to reach these desired outcomes

  • determine the action steps required to get you there

  • begin identifying some of the obstacles that have been thwarting your progress

  • and start developing a plan for dissolving them!

Lastly, we will go over the session structure for the rest of your program, and determine the best schedule for your subsequent hypnosis sessions. This first "initial consult" appointment as well as all subsequent sessions of the program are 90 minutes in duration.

Subsequent Sessions

After the initial consultation, you will begin your 6-session program. Each week, we will begin with a check-in on your progress around the action items from your previous session. We will discuss the successes you had, and any challenges you may have encountered. I will then guide you through a hypnosis process that day, designed to further assist your subconscious mind in adopting healthier thoughts, feelings and beliefs that will result in achieving your desired outcomes.

In addition to the hypnosis experiences that I guide you through during your live sessions with me, you will also receive an audio recording (MP3) to listen to between sessions (and ongoing after your program completes too) ~ as well as learn how to do self-hypnosis on your own using a very simple yet highly effective method to achieve your goals, and better manage the stresses of daily life so you remain on the success track.

We will:

  • clarify your purpose for participating in the HypnoCoaching® program

  • articulate a clearly defined goal that meets your needs 

  • determine the action steps required to get you there

  • begin identifying some of the obstacles that have been thwarting your progress

  • how hypnosis and other coaching strategies will facilitate this change

  • and start developing a plan for dissolving them!

Lastly, we will go over the coaching program structure, and determine the best schedule for your subsequent HypnoCoaching® sessions.

Subsequent Sessions

HypnoCoaching® requires a minimum three month commitment consisting of weekly or biweekly sessions via video conference, telephone call or by email correspondence. These appointments can be scheduled for the full 90-minute session time (standard), or you can opt for shorter 45-minute sessions. 

Each week, we will begin with a check-in on your progress around the action items from your previous session. We will discuss the successes you had, and any challenges you may have encountered. HypnoCoaching® uses specific techniques and exercises designed to identify what motivates you, discover your subconscious response patterns, challenge your self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, and enable you to tap into your own inner resources where you can find your own best solutions and determine your next most powerful action steps.  

Some sessions will include a live hypnosis experience designed to work on releasing fears, or for changing unproductive habits or thinking patterns. Other sessions will focus on learning and practicing self-hypnosis, a very effective tool you can use on your own to facilitate progress towards your goal. 

The session will conclude with you having clear action steps to be completed for your next HypnoCoaching® session.
